How to get a press release on Business Insider: Markets Insider, explained

Can you publish a press release on Business Insider? How releases reach markets.businessinsider.com through newswires, what the page is and is not, whether it is indexed and how its links are marked, what it costs, and how to get Business Insider's reporters to cover you instead.

By Published
Short answer

You can get a press release on Business Insider, but not into its newsroom. Releases appear on markets.businessinsider.com, the markets section known as Markets Insider, through newswires whose distribution includes it; the page credits the wire and is not written by Business Insider's staff. Links are nofollow, and some pages are kept out of Google, so check a recent sample first. If you want Business Insider's reporters to write about you, that is a pitch, not a purchase.

“Business Insider” is one of the names buyers ask us about most, and the one whose product is least understood. Some sellers describe it as “getting featured in Business Insider”; it is a press release in the markets section, which has real value and real limits. This guide explains what the page is, how a release gets there, what it does for search and AI answers, what it costs and how to use it honestly.

What a Business Insider press release actually is

Markets Insider launched in October 2016 as Business Insider's markets data and news site, with data from finanzen.net. Alongside quotes and charts it runs a stream of company news from newswires, at addresses such as markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/your-headline-1234567890. A press release published there:

  • carries your text as the wire sent it, with the wire named as the source;
  • sits in the markets section on the businessinsider.com domain, not in the main news sections;
  • is not edited, chosen or written by Business Insider's journalists;
  • can be found by searching the site for your company name, alongside the stock news of listed companies.

The masthead is still large. Business Insider averaged 21 million monthly unique visitors in 2026 so far, according to Comscore figures reported by Talking Biz News in September 2026, down from 95 million at its 2021 peak. Few of those readers browse the markets news stream, so treat the page as a credible record rather than a source of traffic.

How releases get there

There is no form for submitting a release to Business Insider directly. Releases arrive through newswire feeds, and only some wires and tiers include it:

  • Wire packages that name it. In October 2026 ACCESS Newswire's pricing page listed Business Insider among the destinations of its $475 Budget and $1,205 US Premium packages, while the FAQ on the same page said the premium tier “adds Business Insider”. Ask the wire which tier guarantees it.
  • Other wires. Releases from other wires, GlobeNewswire among them, also appear in the Markets Insider news stream, usually those of listed companies. A wire that shows Business Insider's logo on its homepage is not promising that your release will appear there.
  • Placement services. Marketplaces and resellers, including us, sell a Business Insider placement as a single item, delivered through a wire partner, with the live URL in the report.

Whichever route you take, the question that matters is the same as for any outlet: is this exact outlet guaranteed in the package I am buying, and can I see a page it published last month? The wider comparison is in how to choose a press release distribution service.

What it does for search and AI answers

We opened live Markets Insider press-release pages on 23 October 2026, as part of the checks in dofollow or nofollow: what links you really get. What we found:

QuestionWhat the pages showedWhat it means
Is the page indexable?It varies: one page was set to index, another from the same day to noindexA noindex page cannot rank for your brand or be cited by AI tools; check a recent sample
How are links marked?rel="nofollow", some through a redirectNo link authority; readers can still click
Who is credited?The wire that distributed the releaseIt reads as company news, which is what it is

When the page is indexed, it does what a good press-release page does: it can rank for your company name on a domain searchers recognize, and Google says a page must be indexed and eligible for a snippet to appear in AI Overviews and AI Mode, so an indexed page is one AI tools can read. The nofollow links are expected: Google's spam policies treat optimized links in press releases distributed on other sites as link spam unless they are qualified. What the page does not do is pass link authority, bring many visitors or count as coverage.

What it costs

In wire packages, Business Insider comes bundled: the ACCESS Newswire tiers above cost $475 and $1,205 per release, with no word limit. Placement services sell it alone for a few hundred dollars, and at least one sells a “non-index” version, which tells you indexing is not a given. Compare the price per indexed page you can show, not per release; with a free account, our Business Insider listing shows the current price, label, link type and turnaround.

Getting Business Insider's reporters to cover you

Coverage by Business Insider's newsroom is a different route, and the one that brings readers and links:

  1. Find the right reporter. Business Insider is organized by beats; read the last few stories of the reporter who covers your subject. Reporters list their contact details on their author pages.
  2. Send one short, specific email. A number nobody else has, a first, a trend you can prove, or an expert who can talk today. 2026 surveys say journalists ignore pitches outside their beat and prefer them short; the details are in how to get your business in the news.
  3. Or write for it. Business Insider's writing guidelines accept occasional one-off pieces from outside experts, unpaid and exclusive, and say it does not accept promotional or sponsored posts.
  4. Or advertise properly. Branded content runs through BI Studios, Business Insider's in-house branded-content team, which works on campaigns with advertisers.

Using the page honestly

A Business Insider press release is worth mentioning, accurately. Link to the live page, describe it as a press release on Business Insider's markets site, and do not imply that its journalists chose to cover you. The National Advertising Division, the industry's self-regulation body, has treated an outlet's name or seal as an endorsement claim, and the FTC expects paid relationships to be disclosed, as our guide to guaranteed placements explains. Before you pay, run the checks:

  • Is Business Insider guaranteed in this package or listing, by name?
  • Can I see a Markets Insider page from the last 30 days, and is it indexed?
  • Which wire will be credited on the page?
  • What happens if the release is rejected, not published or removed?

Contact support

Can I publish a press release on Business Insider?

Yes, on its markets section, markets.businessinsider.com, which carries company news from newswires. You cannot submit directly: the release goes out through a wire whose distribution includes Business Insider, or through a placement service that uses one. It appears as a press release credited to the wire, not as an article by Business Insider's staff.

Is a Business Insider press release real coverage?

No. It is your release, published in the markets section with the wire named as the source. Coverage means a Business Insider reporter decided to write about you, which you get by pitching, not by paying. Describe the page accurately when you use it: a press release on Business Insider's markets site.

How much does it cost to get a press release on Business Insider?

Through a wire package: ACCESS Newswire listed Business Insider among the destinations of its $475 and $1,205 packages in October 2026, though its FAQ ties Business Insider to the premium tier. Single placements are also sold by resellers and marketplaces for a few hundred dollars. Ask which tier includes Business Insider for certain, and ask for a recent live sample.

Are Business Insider press release links dofollow?

No. On the Markets Insider press-release pages we checked on 23 October 2026, links to the company were marked nofollow, some routed through a redirect. That is what Google's spam policies ask of links in press releases distributed on other sites.

Are Business Insider press releases indexed by Google?

Some are and some are not. On 23 October 2026 we found one Markets Insider press-release page set to index and another, published the same day, set to noindex. A noindex page cannot rank for your brand or be cited by AI tools, so check a recent sample before you pay if search is the goal.

Does Business Insider accept guest posts or sponsored posts?

Not through its contributor program: its writing guidelines say it does not accept promotional or sponsored posts, and contributor pieces must be exclusive and are unpaid. Paid brand campaigns go through BI Studios, its branded-content team, which works with advertisers rather than with single articles.

How do I get Business Insider to write about my company?

Find the reporter who covers your subject, read their last few stories, and send one short email with something they can use: a number nobody else has, a first, or access to an expert. Business Insider reporters list their contact details on their author pages. A press release on a wire can support the pitch; it does not replace it.
