The prices below are the ranges publicly listed by press-release resellers and marketplaces at the time of writing. They change often; treat them as benchmarks rather than quotes.

What the price difference buys

A $100 USA Today listing and a $395 one usually deliver the same page. The difference is what surrounds it: whether a writer is included, how many revision rounds you get when the outlet's screener pushes back, whether the seller tells you the link is nofollow before you pay, and whether you get a refund when the placement fails. Screening is the hidden cost. National outlets reject promotional language, unnamed spokespeople and missing boilerplates, and a release that bounces three times costs you a week even if the listing was cheap.

Bundles versus single outlets

Traditional newswires sell one price for a "network" and rarely name the outlets. Marketplaces price each outlet on its own. Bundles make sense when you would have bought most of the outlets anyway; a single placement makes sense when one masthead does the job, which is common for brand-term ranking. Either way, insist on seeing the outlet list before paying.
